As early as 1993, the CIS analysts, later working under the TBW flag, were the first analysts to predict Asia’s financial structure problems, which were to prompt the devastating Asia crisis of 1997.
In association with Carbon Management Consulting Ltd (CMC), which provides the more specific carbon methodology review, CIS has so far scrutinized hundreds of projects in many different countries, some of them for in-house purposes, most of them at the request of project owners, investors, lenders or carbon credit buyers. For close to 100 of those projects, CIS analysts produced a formal rating or pricing report.
We understand very intimately the critical factors that distinguish good projects from weaker ones. In a world where, in most cases, carbon credits benefits are not available to projects unless they are demonstrably unviable without such benefits, it is absolutely crucial to gauge their delivery risk. Very few companies combine the range of skills needed to achieve that objective.
